Smile valve timing chain

Hi tim's wife. Could you please ask Tim has he thought to check the valve timing? if the chain has stretched, it could have jumped and upset the valve timing.

Have you checked whether there is a pulse from the ECU to the injectors telling them to fire?

If the output stage on the ECU is faulty (the T4 will not pick this up) nor will the injectors get the instruction to fire. Needs to be checked with a multi-meter at the electrical plug on the injectors (earth via engine body).

Just another thought that might have a bearing.... check the throttle position sensor. If this has failed, it would probably stop it starting.. (mate had a similar problem on a different car and this was the cause)

Good Luck

TBH I have no idea! I was talking to a mate about "our" problems and after we'd gone through everything that you'd done, he threw those two ideas into the melting pot.

So, not having done it myself, I guess we need an "expert" to help you out.

Sorry, the other thing I forgot to ask him was what voltage is the "pulse" .... Apparently the earth can be obtained off the engine block. Would need two people to check as one would be needed to turn the engine over.

That's it I'm afraid.
