Default Absolute disbelief.

I have spent today driving 150 miles to Kidderminster to see a Rover 75 I had arranged to view. I spoke to the bloke, explained I was a mechanic and was going to give it a look over, I completed my checks in about 10 minutes and said I was going to get the torch from my car and check one last thing but was thinking that the car was a good one. What did he say? No, Im not doing business with you, you are too quirky. I asked what he meant and he said coming up here checking all this out its not on, you get the aa to check things out not do it yourself and told me to go.

I'm disgusted about this attitude, the car was ok, The front and rear bumpers have been resprayed and there is filler in the n/s/r wing and outside air temp sensor is flapping around and the back box isn't long for this world and the brake discs are orange with rust!!!! I didn't get any further than this before being told to go away. I didn't mention any of this to the seller either.

I think he already knew the bits you had found and was aware that you were about to find lots more!!! Looks like the actions of a seller who had lots to hide!!

Brilliant!! I was most cross that I lost my Sunday and £25 petrol in the bargain.

On the way home though, I did have a moment that was most out of charactor and will never happen again. Oh the noise!!! Only up to the speed limit but oh what a noise!!

Phil it beggers belief, you said you had told him you are a mechanic, obviously you will do a far more thourgh check on the car than the average joe.

You obviously touched a nerve or were getting close to a major problem that he knew about and was trying to hide.

Maybe you were not meant to have that particular car....sorry you wasted part of your day.

Never mind hey! I'm going to look at another one tomorrow hopefully. Hows the new Jeep?

Don't tell anybody that you are a mechanic, just do your usual checks.

This bloke definitely was not worth doing business with. Your final insult could have been offering him scrap value.

Phil I am really pleased with it, I had to spend a bit on getting it absolutely right, but well worth it, sailed through the MOT.

I love it.

I think he was the quirky one by the sounds of things. What a joker!
