Allan Carr. I'm now 7 months. You won't regret it, the only thing you'll regret is starting again (if you do (but you won't)).

Best of luck with the quitting - you know it makes sense.

Stick at it Corin.
I can't remember the last one I had, but my wife can, during a particularly stressful phone call I picked up her ciggies lit one and smoked it without realising. I was on week two of Patches. She told about it and it gave me bit of extra will power to stop. That was after 30 years and 30 a day. I also used the incentive of using the money I saved to treat myself. 15 years later the treats go on my Rover.
Wish you luck,

Bobthethird

Seriously mate I was on patches for 6 weeks nice and easy - suprisingly enough considering all issues going on around. Then one day, wham good ruck on the phone and that was the end of that.

I am like yourself I don't crave a smoke, boredom or force of habit more likely the cause.

The good lady and I took a few days away, left my smokes at home, didnt bother me once. when she popped back to her place and I fired up the lappy, the smokes came out too.

Wish you well mate, stick at it.
I put my patches over my mouth

I fully agreewith the above, I have been given up for just over 2 years, still fancy a ciggy now and again but the graving is for seconds only.

Good luck and keep thinking that it is for your own health and prolonged life that you are doing this.

i amazed myself with quitting... i found out i was expecting on the Thursday and finished the packet i had on the Saturday... not craved one since, just the odd "it would be nice to have a tab now" thought but not broken even when someone is smoking in front of me.... you wait til you notice the smell on others!!!!!

i know i have a bump to think of but this is the first time i've stopped with no assistance from patches, tablets or plastic fags!

been nearly 12 weeks now for me after 17 years.

you can do it!!!!!

Good luck. I did the deed a few years ago when we had kids.

One day I was smoking. The next not. Never looked back.

Once you've quit and don't need patches, a 75 will take all the saved money Its well worth stopping, hard but worth it

Good luck mate, once you are past a certain point it gets easier (about 10 years time, he he...) no only joking, one thing you will have to watch is friends (or so called friends) enticing you to have one while they are puffing away, resist and in most cases walk away its all to easy to fall back in to the habit!
