I loved my wolseley to bits, it drove really well, beautiful wooden walnut dashboard and nice elegant dials on the dashboard with a brilliant tiny gear lever built into the dash for the auto box.

Armchair seats with pull down side arms and not forgetting the wolseley badge that lit up on the radiator grill. they were the days

Hydragas top up pumps seem to be readily available on the bay of fleas these days. Don't let that put you off.

Though you should think carefully about the rust, and the electrics by the prince of darkness (Joseph Lucas).

The 1750 HLS versions go like stink. I had the Maxi version. Twin carbs, high lift cam, 4 to 2 to 1 tubular manifold. Used to upset Jags!

Rather than worry about the availability of suspension components I would think the biggest problem with any B.L. car of this era would be the dreaded tin worm, a pity because they were very comfortable in their day.P.

Rust is a big problem you are right, I'm keeping my eye on a few. One that I would like is a mk1 marina in Harvest gold.

I had a Marina 4 door in the mid. seventies, supplied as a company car.

I had to use it for two years, quite a big car compared to the Ford Escorts of the day, but not very reliable..

Just like this one..

Having owned a succession of Allegro's over the years I have never had any trouble with the Hydrogas, it has proved very reliable. As others have said rust is the problem.

As always if you own a car like that or intend to own one like it then join the relevant club.
