YouTube !!
Maybe I'm just being victimised, but every time I try and upload a video on YouTube, I have issues.
First it was a short clip from Top Gear showing clarkson reviewing the ZT260, it lasted a couple of days, then the "Video was disabled" due to copyright issues with the BBC Yet there are loads of Top Gear & other BBC clips all over you tube, some far more current than my little snippet. And today I've spent ages trying to up load a 3 minute piece I've edited about the S Reg Cars, all put to a track by Sinatra, and what da ya know......pictures are fine, but the "Audio is disabled" due to copyright issues with Warner Music. YouTube offers the facility to substitute the sound track with one of their approved tunes, but the whole piece is specificaly cut to the existing music. WHAT A WASTE OF A PRECIOUS DAY OFF Of course I understand the problems of copyright infringement for the original artists, especially if it is for finantial gain, but how is it, that everyone else on their site seems to have a free reign, yet two out of the only three things I've ever tried to upload have been blocked. I'm no music pirate, I just wanted share with you lot a look back at some of the early 75's with a rather apt piece of music. |

U Tube wouldn't pay the PPR the licence fee so removed and removes all infringing music.
The BBC have now asked for all their Clips to be removed or be seen in Court. U Tube have stopped most new ones being posted. A lot of the old ones will soon go, currently in negotiations but I expect they won't want to pay. Copyright rules are currently stopping loads of stuff going up. Sad but it will only get worse. |

S Reg Tribute Video
Well until I find a solution (if any), here are the mute pictures, you'll have to buy your own copy of Frank Sinatra singing "Loves Been Good To Me" and start it when the video begins to get the intended effect
But the first line is " I have been a Rover......" If anyone want's a DVD of it (with Sound), let me know

Hi Reebs you are absolutely correct about youtube, any music uploaded must have copyright consent, now if you decide to upload a video with music say from the sixties on an older version cd, you may get away with it. these newer cd's must have some sort of electronic signature so they can detect the fact that royalty's are due if the music is used.
