Understanding rear suspension

I assume the Tourer rear springs are stiffer then those of the saloon.
What confuses me is that both cars have the same towing capacity and nose weight but the Tourer has an extra 20kg allowance for weight on the roof. The Tourer being 100kg and the saloon 80 kg

As both have the same towing capacity specifications are the rear springs stiffer or longer? What is the difference? The have different colour codes.

Now what of the rear dampers, how do they differ?

I was looking at towing capacity on my saloon the other day, I thought I'd read that the tourer could tow more?
I'll have another read of the hand book when I get in!

cdt and cdti 1600 kg braked, handbook does not differ between saloon and Tourer.

nose weight is high for a car, 100kg

Longer and stiffer (ooh err missus) on a tourer, I fitted a set to a saloon once to see what they would be like...

Harsh and bouncy was the answer!

There are of course two different dampers used on the Tourer, normal and self levelling, in accordance with ihe original purchase order configuration.

Stiffer I expected, thank you but that still leaves me confused. How come the Tourer and saloon have the same towing specification? Will the saloon sit lower than the Tourer with the same weight in the boot and or on the tow ball?
My Tourer looks to sit low on the rear. Perhaps the new springs are not the correct ones.
Is top of wheel arch to ground the same on a tour and saloon when empty or is there a difference in body shell deign hence longer length required on a Tourer?

I expect the common towing weight between the saloon and Tourer is due to the limitations of the powertrain and brakes and the relatively similar kerbweights of the cars. The beefier Tourer rear springs will account for the higher noseweight allowance.

The tourer does not have a higher nose weight, only an increased roof carrying capacity
