Could it be a MAF issue?
Try disconnecting the plug and see what happens.
Someone will tell you where it is. I've got no idea!

When did you last fill up with fuel? No chance you put petrol in it?

The code reader may well miss many error codes which only the T4 is capable of picking up I'm afraid.

Not often but could be the HP fuel Pump, when the fuel come out was it a trickle or at pressure?
Any error messages or EP shown on Dash?
Not been any rain so Plenums should be well clear.

Mmm....going to have to look up in my Idiots Fault Guide Book.

I have heard of this when car goes dead it can be Glow plugs, but normally all of them,
Rover 620Di, not heard of it on the 75 though.

Only other silly things that come to mind are:

1. Crank Sensor
2. Cam Sensor
3. PCV filter completely blocked
4. EGR blocked
5. Damp or shot MAF
6. Low fuel level with one pump failed.

But I would say all of above unlikely on your car.

Can anyone Else throw any light on this?

Also try the battery disconnect for 20 Minutes and see if this clears it.
Remember Sat Nav procedures and Codes for Radios where required.
