Default Rover 75 clutch bite

Hi
I recently bought Lee's Rover 75 1.8 club and have fallen in love with it,"what a car"!!!!!
Just a query i would like for you boffins to enlighten me.The gear changes are as smooth as silk except when changing from 1st into 2nd where it feels like i've dumped the clutch in 2nd gear unless i consciously let the clutch out smoothly .All the other gear changes are brilliant.
Is this a quirk of the Rover or something else?
Proud owner of my first Rover.

I have a 1.8T and likewise 1st to 2nd can be quite a temperamental change quite snappy. I'm used to it now and applying a little more revs and letting the clutch out gently gives a smooth change, as you say all other gear changes smooth and faultless. I've read other posts re this so think it's certainly a feature !!!!

My 1.8T does exactly the same with only 16K on the clock from new. Think I'll go for gearbox oil change with 6 year service later this year.

Hi Brian, glad you are getting used to the car...I had the same problem when I first bought it, once you get used to it....it will be an automatic action without any problems at all...

PS...I better change my Sig
