Default Sealed VIS motors: first pics

Here as promised are the first pictures of the sealed Vis motors I have built.

Balance Vis:

Power Vis:

These motors use standard parts, circuit boards are unaffected. Only modifications are to the case and the operating part that goes on the butterflies.

Total cost in the region of £15 for both motors.

Will be posting a how-to in the next couple of days.

Russ

I had the chance to see these in the flesh today. Superb bit of engineering Russ.

We did discuss slight alterations to the Balance over a coffee or two and that should make the conversion easier.

Cannot wait for the testing Russ.

All I can say is Well Done mate.

Way to go. Would probably be a great preventative measure.

Do my eyes see a lip-type oil seal around each drive shaft !

This looks to be a very well thought out and executed mod, and very cheap at £15 for parts, but clearly there is the need to accurately machine out the housing somehow.

Thanks for all the positive comments, very much appreciated.

All will become clear in the how-to, I won't go into it just now as it would be a little long winded, but there isn't any specialist tools involved just some accurate measuring and a little patience.

I will be doing another couple for testing purposes in the next day or so and will be doing step by step instructions with photo's.

Also thanks to Stocktake for his helpful input on a slight alteration to the balance Vis mod. which will make life easier for others to do it.

Russ

Just finished the other pair of Sealed Vis motors for the how-to.

At the moment I'm just finalising the how-to and adding the pictures I took today.

Should be ready later today or early tomorrow.

Both pairs should be fitted to cars in the next day or so.

Russ
