Which Diesel Injector Cleaner.
Hi Guy's.
Big Russ used his T4 magic on my car yesterday at the BMC Rally, and found that one of my injectors was a bit mucky. Anyone used a cleaner before, or can recommend a good one? There are hundreds on the market, and I am confused! |

Yes, I'd be interested to know how you got on with BG244.
Also, I'd run a tank or two of the posh (premium) diesel through the car. It made a difference for me when my 75 was playing up. |

Seems expensive, but if it does the job I'll give it a try!

Did Big Russ say mucky or leaky? If it shows up leaky then you are wasting money trying to clean them.
Not that I have any experience of cleaners as I've only ever put diesel in my tank. Seems to work OK so far. Mike |

No, they weren't leaking just need a bit of a clean
Sorry should have told you Ray which one was best, as mamasboy says above Forte injector cleaner is as good as it gets, it really works and gives very good results. There's a lot of confusion on here about injector cleaner. Millers and the like are a fuel addditive which you put a small measured dose in each time you fill up and are used to help to keep the fuel system clean it won't clear the system of anything other than minor contamination. Injector cleaner is a different animal you put in a very large dose to clean the fuel system including the injectors. The confusion arises as they are often stocked alongside each other often it takes careful reading of the label to determine which you're buying. Russ

I tried the BG244 recently but my ZT must have been running better than I though as I noticed none of the reported benefits whatsoever. Not even a placebo!!
I'm still a guy who'll try almost anything once though, i.e. don't knock it till you try it train of thought.

I used Liqui-moly Diesel Purge. You fill up the fuel filter with it and run the car up the road to draw it though. Any left is put into the tank. It cured a 'tick' i had at higher revs. I also use 2 stroke oil at 200:1, something quite a few of us do now. It makes the car smoother and helps clean the whole system up.
