FBH - Different Wiring Socket Car to Heater
Hi, I have just removed an FBH from a R75 at the scrap yard. I have had it on the bench and made sure all is clean inside and fitted it to my recently purchased R75 CDT Saloon.
All fits OK other than one of the electrical sockets I have found tucked away on car the doesn't fit the FBH. However the smaller one does. As it happens I snipped off the orginal socket from the donor car. I assume I can just solder this socket in place of the one on the car and all should be well?? I thought the sockets were all a standard fit? PS its a Thermotop Z Webasto. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...5/IMG_5869.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...5/IMG_5870.JPG PS Looking at the photos I can see its a bit tricky to tell the difference. The plug has oval sides and the socket has parallel straight sides and the oval wont fit in. Last edited by rik007; 22nd September 2015 at 15:39.. Reason: addition |

The plugs are the same though, just where the wires go that is different. I'll have a look in a bit, as work ban photo sharing sites (Makes some threads worthless reading as I can't see half the pictures).

The plug that is connected to the car loom has a blanking plug to stop water getting into the plug.
You will have to unpick the blanking part and then the female pins will be revealed. When you remove the blanking plug it will look like the one on the right. Dave T Last edited by Duotone; 22nd September 2015 at 16:17.. |
