Fabulous V8 for sale if you can afford it!!
Wow, have a look at this car!
£34,000 but well worth it for a V8 don't you think? I don't know where it's been but it has 20 miles on the clock(?) If I had the money I'd definitely go for it. https://www.autovillage.co.uk/used-c...yhill_14579752 |

This one has been mentioned many times before & we've always wished them luck selling it at that price
The problem is not only the price, would you really want to put more miles on it & it'll be top price VED if you did want to drive or even keep it on the road.....ouch. Last edited by mh007; 16th October 2020 at 08:19.. |

Actually only a fiver off of £35k. It's been for sale for 13 years to my knowledge, but recently increased in price from £29k. Would probably need a fairly costly "recommissioning" too, knowing how much ZT 260's and 75 V8's hate even a winter "hibernation", let alone 16 years.
Then there is the colour ... One did sell at auction for £19,244 recently with just 2,500 miles on the clock, in the same colour (the seller would have got about 4k less). That gives you some idea of the depreciation rate of your 35k if you were to drive it! . Last edited by DeeJ; 16th October 2020 at 10:05.. |

That's what shows up a newbie round here of course - 13 years? And they haven't yet thought maybe it's a bit overpriced etc? Good point about the adding miles adn top priced VED. It's just for show in a car museum somewhere, then.
what colour would enhance it do you think? I've never liked the gold myself, can go for silver like my old 45 but I like the darker greys personally. I'm not a V8 person either so don't know what colours they were available in. Last edited by Janeflute; 16th October 2020 at 13:55.. Reason: adding something |

XPower Grey, Typhoon, Mirage, Le Mans Green, Starlight Silver, British Racing Green, Solar Red, Anthracite, Chagall, Trophy Blue, Raven Black, Royal Blue, Copperleaf Red, Odyssey, Celestial, Spectre, Nightshade, Lagoon, Damson Red, Midnight Blue, Black Olive, Biomorphic , Shot Silk, Chatsworth, Dover White, Pearl Black, Garnet, Firefrost Red, Saffron, Aubergine, Nocturne, Aquamarine (Goodwood), Bitter Sweet, Dark Fantasy, Poseidon, Twilight, Atmosphere, Mica (Ignition) Blue, Moonshine, Aurora, Caledonian, Ski Blue, Platinum Gold, Gulf Stream, Moody Blue, Rio Red. Don't think I missed any? Some were just for Rovers, some just MG's. Some are very rare, with just one or two cars made, like Saffron and Rio Red. I believe that example(s) of all those colours still exist, either in 75 V8 or ZT(-T) form. David Last edited by DeeJ; 16th October 2020 at 16:59.. |

Surely this car is not for the ordinary buyer wishing to drive a nice V8. It has rarity value which only a collector would recognise. I suspect it is targeted at such a potential buyer. Whether such a buyer exists, who knows? Personally, I love the colour - Platinum Gold is my favourite for a 75. I would love a V8 but would only spend £30k+ on a car if I had won this amount or my shares doubled in price etc. Then I would buy this https://www.westwelljones.co.uk/vehi...7-de266a7890ae as my interest is in driving rather than collecting. I do feel that it would be a shame if this one-off 75 V8 was not aimed at an exclusive buyer with a price to match its exclusivity and I feel that the seller has got it right. I think the idea is, I'll put a sale price up but make it so expensive no one will buy it...
Les Finnie has a much better ZT-T 260 for sale. |
