The mileage that the engine has done might have a bearing on the answer that you are looking for

The W means winter, so thats the viscosity of the oil when cold when compared to water.
So 0 would be like water and 5 is pretty thin, thats good for intial start as it means the oil is roughly of the same viscosity when its warm, so less engine wear.
But its not always that simple, some cars cant run such a thin oil such as 0W as its literally to thin for the pump to pump it round so you do more damage.

The second number -30 is the viscosity when its at around 100Degrees, that number you really want to stick to manufacturer spec.

so for example on the KV6 im sure the revised spec is 5-40 so just look for something like that.

Im not as clued up on the KV6 but i'd have thought a fully synthetic 5-30 would be ok unless someone knows different?

This table tells you the MGR specs for engine oils.

Why risk the engine using a non-spec oil? The ACEA specs are vitally important. Check any oil you select regarding these parameters.
You can get oil meeting the correct specification from Home Bargains at less than a tenner for 4.5 litres.
