Default intermittent air bag light

I have an intermittent air bag warning light coming on. I understand the usual culprits are the connection under the front seats. I have bought 2 new connectors and will solder them in. My question is do I need to disconnect the battery and has anyone any tips they can offer.
Thanks

I assume you have already cleaned the connections in the existing connectors with contact cleaner and reconnected firmly ?

Normally, if it these that are playing up, this will suffice. Do it with Engine off.

If you go down the replacement route its worth adding about 6" of wire, prevents the wiring being put under tension by seat movement. A problem with the underseat connectors for the seat belt pretensioners can also trigger the warning light.

Opinion on disconnecting the battery is divided but disconnecting eliminates any doubt.

That happened to me - for years i got the intermittent warning light every few months/weeks- as always i pushed the connectors back and it worked with the warning light being extinguished- however an auto sparks whilst looking at something else noticed my wiring/connectors were connected by plastic ties to the seat - he said this will magnify movement/tension of the connectors leading to the warning light triggering. He snipped the ties and all has been fine since.

As above posts.--Disconnect the negative battery terminal, just in case.---
