But can they be sealed from within the boot or does the window seal need to be removed?

I've squeezed sealant around them after cleaning and by lifting the rubber seal.

Yes I've put a lot of that through the little bu66ers over the years, but eventually (for me anyway) they always start to leak again eventually. Some day maybe I'll do it all properly, or get another 5 years out of the car with luck, then go electric (oh, the shame... ) PS as part of my current life of endless telly, I watched Get Carter the other night - if I'm not mistaken, it ends up in Seaton Carew...
