rover75 headlight levelling

Could somebody tell me how the headlights work on a rover 75 ie the self levelling system works when the lights are switched on and i adjust the beam on the switch nothing happens is the problem the switch thanks

Can you adjust them using the cog wheels on the lights themselves?

Inside the lights are ball and socket connectors, one may have popped out
