Default Fuel pump clips

I have reason to believe my ubp is possibly on its last legs. I have obtained a new pierburg unit but in looking at the clips securing the fuel line to the pump. they seem a funny clip and I haven't an idea on how to release them, do I need a special tool to release and re tighten said clip. My other thought was to cut the pipe below the clip and just use a good old jubilee or something?
Can anyone help? Thanks. Will

If you’ve got the correct set of pliers you can open them up with them if not if you’re very careful you can do it with a small flat headed screwdriver, if memory serves me right this is the part number for the clips you’re referring to
Part No.: ESR3501A
Oh and I wouldn’t use jubilee clips, as I’ve seen a few that have been overtightened and cut into the pipe you don’t really want diesel leaking

Thanks. Micky. Do you happen to have a link to the special pliers or the name of them. Thanks, Will

Hi Will,

If you buy the new clips then just a pair of water pump pliers will be good enough to clamp them closed and open The old clips up with a small flat headed screwdriver should work for you

Hi Will.
Follow the link below which should help you change the UBP, yes you can re-use the steel clips but if you do use jubilee clips use the ones Brian put a link too
