Default When will "wait" disappear?

Gentlemen,

what a great forum.

I bought a very beautiful Rover 75 in silver from 06.2001 CDT. Celeste / Connoisseur. Black leather seats, and many gimmicks.

But the radio lost his code, because the pre-owner had to recharge the battery. I typed too many times the wrong code I guess. 0000 or 1111.

I ordered the code via one of these radio unlucker/decoder online. Got the code after I gave them the VIN and serial number from alpine radio.

But I can't type the code, because the screen says "wait" and it wont go away.

Any ideas what to do? Or should buy a new radio?

Thanks for any advice.

Hello and welcome to the club.

Out of interest, have you tried disconnecting the battery so that the head unit resets itself?

Other than that it's dead easy to swap stereos although you may need to purchase a facia to make it fit.

Depends on type of radio and how many times you have tried to input code. I would imagine first time is around 1 hour.

Thanks gentlemen for taking time and helping me out.

@Simondi. No, I haven't. But that sounds logic. Sorry, for asking. But do I need to take attention by disconnecting the battery? I would try it on weekend then.

@stockake. I guess 7 or 9 times. 1 hour? Okay. I will try that out. If it doesn't work, I will disconnect the battery.

I saw those great chinese Android radios. But I am not talented to get it done. I would be happy, if my old school cassette/radio from Alpine just would work.

I also saw a cable coming out with a head jack on the passengers seat. No idea what that cable is for.

I will keep you updated, gentlemen!

Time to wait will increase each time you enter the incorrect code.
Just connect the radio to a car battery and leave turned on. it will eventually allow you to enter another code.
