Default Just call me lucky!

Came out this morning to find I have a broken front spring on the Rover 75.
I have just replaced the two front tyres two days ago and wasn't hanging about on my drive home last night.

I have had to replace the wheel with the space saver from the boot so as to be able to move it. The spring is out of the bottom spring cup and rubbing against the new tyre.

So it will be recovered shortly and taken to the garage where both front springs will be replaced.

A broken front spring at speed is not to be imagined as the consequences could have been deadly.

And a pair of tyre protectors, if not already fitted.

Thankfully our springs normally break when pulling away.

It would again raise a query if spring breakage is mostly related to:
A) cold weather
B) the fact that the springs have been unloaded recently with having the tyres changed 2 days previously.
