Rear suspension issue
Hello guys, noticed a while ago that the rear left side of the car is slightly lowered than the rest of the car, basically the rear left side is sitting about 1 inch lower (about 2 to 3 cm) than the other side, checked the spring, not broken, properly seated and looks all fine. The damper is not leaking at all, no signs of that. Anyone knows what could cause it and if it's a matter that should quickly be attended? Ran the car for almost 2 months like this after noticing and it hasn't got worse, but you can still quite notice it when looking from behind with the car on a flat surface

Are thesuspensio arms and trailing arm ok? I cant think of anything else back there!

Might be a different spring fitted either side , see if you can see the colour codes on the springs

Upper suspension arms were replaced about 1 year ago with new ones, lower ones are also perfectly fine, and it can't be that the springs are different, as I said, this matter only developed in the last 2-3 months max and the springs were never swapped since I owned the car (more than 4 years already), trailing arms are also good, replaced the trailing arm front bushes with powerflex purple ones about half a year ago, but after replacing the bushes oc the trailing arms, it wasn't having this matter and I can't imagine how those bushes could be the culprit here, the bushes that I've had before were practically sandwiched lol and the car still wasn't having this issue back then.

I would say that it's a weak spring or shock , doesn't have to be leaking or broken , just tired and worn out.

did you jack the car up to check the springs? Although mine were still tight, passed at least 4 MOTs and could only see the break if you remove the wheels, and looked hard enough into the cups. After replacement, the car was raised by around an inch at the rear.

What about the bush that connects the trailing arm to the upper suspension arm as this is carrying the weight of the car from the trailing arm/hub assembly to the upper suspension arm with the spring supporting the car or the other way round maybe, but either way any deterioration of the bush could make the car sit slightly lower ?

There are only two real possibilities.
1) the springs are not a pair. (unlikely as you would have noticed by now surely :p ) 2) one of the springs is broken and its hard to see, but a coil is enough to drop one side obviously. Broken rears do not always make an obvious noise. |

I really properly checked the rear spring and it doesn't show not even one sign of cracking... Will check again thoroughly again, my opinion is that the damper could be the issue here, as far as I know even if they don't already leak somewhere, they can still go bad somewhere
