placing data on the canbus?
Ok there are systems out there to read things like the engine temp, but is there a way of putting it on the canbus e.g. live streaming engine temp and rpm on to the canbus for the dash to read?.
what i need is to be able to run the engine with standalone management, but still retain the original dash? any ideas? thanks |

What you seem to be describing is taking various vehicle parameters and displaying them on the IPK message centre?
In that case, you'll need to take them *from* the CANbus and route them to either the KBus or the NavBus interfaces which have access to the IPK MC - NavBus probably being the easier of the two to reliably tap due to only being used by the Lowline Satnav or the Trafficmaster modules, the first being rare, and the 2nd being heavily obsolete. Google around for "BMW k-bus" and "Rover 75 k-bus" - there is a dead thread around here from somebody showing that they'd managed to control the message centre. |

Hi Mate thanks for the reply, but what i need to do is have the rev counter and the temprature gauge to work with standalone managment which does not have a canbus output which the entire car needs.

For info i found a way to do it using a uno3 microprocessor and a canbus shield.
