Default Failed door lock

We have a Rover 75 in our workshop at the moment that has a driver's door lock that has failed in the deadlock position. Any idea how to open the door and/or replace the door lock mechanism?

Hi Ralph.

Have you tried a battery off to reset the BCU to see if this resets the door lock ?

I thought you could pull back the door trim enough to get a scewdriver in the lock and jimmy it open, you can on the rear doors

I know it may sound obvious, but doesn't the key open it? Surely the key can override the deadlock, otherwise how do you open the dorr if the battery is flat?

Only valid for drivers door, of course!

i had a similar fault on a customers car and it also wouldn't open with the key. i removed the panel (difficult with the door closed) and by disconnecting the rods i managed to manipulate it by hand to get the door open
