I have had a sticking tailgate before - following advice on this site - i removed the rubber grommet in the tailgate handle and stuck a screw driver in to jiggle the mechanism this led to a series of clicks which successfully reset the mechanism and it has been fine since. Dont forget to carefully re-position the grommet in the handle.

Default Tourer tailgate will not open

Humble Pie..
I should have read some of the other posts here more carefully. Turns out it was a problem with the little rubber grommet/pad that covers the tailgate release switch above the number plate. Removed and refitted - and it works!
No idea why.

Hi, neither tailgate nor window would open.

Disconnected battery, still wouldn't open.

re-connected battery and it now opens!

Happy days!!

I found recently that mine didn’t open either but if I longed pressed the unlock button on the key fob, it opened fine.
