Default CD changer issues with HK setup

Good morning all.

I’m starting to pull my hair out at this one.

So me and another forum member have been fitting a HK kit to my v reg 75.

We had a few issues and sorted them (he sorted them)

But the HK was from a mid to late 04 car I believe. Therefore the CD changer had an 8 pin Din connector on. This was confirmed correct. So I have sourced a correct 8 pin connector cd changer.

I have plugged it in and there’s no sounds from the cd changer and the radio is not accepting it.

The wires for the cd changer go straight into the small square blue connector that plugs into the radio. No splicing off anywhere.

It seems the cd changer is not connecting or interacting with the radio at all.
With mode it only selects cd and radio.

The radio is a symphony unit. The HK kit i got is a later one from an 04 car.

Some help would be really appreciated.

Thank you

Best regards

Josh

Josh, is the CD changer the Alpine unit factory fitted to the 75/ZT? That communicates with the Symphony radio using the K-bus.

Do you have a white/red/yellow connection to your CD changer?
