Default Tiiscali keeps going berserk

Tiscali broadband keeps going down (something to do with BT Wholesale I think). It started on Friday.

Is anyone else getting the same thing?

Not around here. Seems OK but a little slower than their usual slow speed

Wonder if they have paid the bill ??

my sister in law is also with tiscali, she lives in Kent and has had the same problem since the weekend. I told her to tell tiscali and all they did was record a fault they didnt attempt to sort the problem.

Their internet presence seems to have dissapeared this evening too. No homepage, and no mail server access.

According to Tiscali, the reason is someone building one of the London venues for the Olympics dug into some cables by mistake.

I was getting a BT Wholesale webpage on IE so I spoke to BT. They said there as an issue in London which was affecting other parts of the system. This seems to tie in with Tiscali's story.

They may have sorted it now - Tiscali has been ok since 2pm today.

According to the news and a person from BT i know there has been a severe outage in east london since saturday and 100000 lines are affected this could be the olympic thing mentioned earlier. I am having great difficulty contacting some of my suppliers in the london area because of this, it is affecting broadband and landlines.
