What brand was the motor and who was the supplier?

The only true way to test is to apply 12v directly to the red and black wires of the motor.

Never a quiet moment with these A/C setups and fans during the hot weather, maybe it's nearly time for the FBH check

Just a quick note for the OP - if your temperature takes a while to rise to 9 o clock (or doesn't when on the move) your thermostat will be sticking open.
While you're working on the car, fit an inline thermostat -
CDTi Inline Thermostat Kit

Good luck sorting the fan out - I need to fix mine too, but it turns out there's no power getting to mine at all.

I have got to bite the bullet on this one and get the job done so the scratches on the bumper will have to wait!!
Can anyone suggest someone in Norwich who could do the job for me if I get one of Jules cooling kits?

Thank you to Freddie as last Saturday he took the front off the car and did all the checks.
OK so fan is dead either no power or dead motor.
We considered the prospect of removing the rest of the front of the car to get to the fan but we didn’t feel confident enough to tackle the job ourselves, certainly not in the time frame that was available to us.
I am going to look at going to a local garage to do the job so if anyone can suggest one who you feel would be suitable please do so, failing this I may have to take a few days off and drive over to Jules to get him to do it.

I also was mistakenly unaware that the 2 speed fans could fail.

Until It happened to my 05 plate diesel. Motor burned out due to possibly Gold resistor failure.

Anyway mate if you purchase a working 2 speeder you quite welcome to come thru to Peterborough on a nice Weekend and I'll assist you in replacing the fan motor. You do have to nibble around the AC pipes on the fan shroud but done it a few times.

Even the Gold resistor can fail, mine did, although heat shrink was supplied it wasn't shrunk, result water ingress, corrosion and failure. I did buy the later 2-speed fan 2nd hand with Gold resistor already fitted, should have checked more thoroughly before fitting, didn't and it failed a little over 2 years down the line.
