I'm not saying Torx 50's won't work, i used one when i first changed seats, just that Torx plus fit without slipping & i've never disconnected the battery in 5 seat changes, no point

Default Torx ? Tool For seat Removal

All of the quotes make good sense and all that I would add to help is to ensure the cavity of the bolt head is free from debris then a sharp tap before undoing. And with this info you should be ok. Did you get your parking brake and stat sorted out?
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Hi JohnH

How you doing matey.

Regards H/Brake & Thermostat. No . H/Brake holding reasonably well at the mo, whilst I find someone I can trust to do it properly. I'm looking for a different garage than the one I have been using.
Same Issue with Thermostat. Still have Kaiser's thermostat waiting to go on.
Love to be able to do it myself, but that's a no no.

Regards

The absolute size is Ribe 8, but a Torx 50 wiill fit the socket. However, any socket strains and a T50 could damage it. A Ribe 8 won't fit a Torx 50 socket though.

Someone posted a mgr document that stated it was torx 50 rather than ribe when this has been discussed previously, Torx 50 worked on mine, but it was a tad touch and go with one bolt, I have seen people say they had difficulty with ribe 8, so maybe as Ronnie says it is Torx 50 plus
I think it was one of the 'greens' may have been duotone

Cheers T-Cut. I know there are differing opinions on this.
Anyways, I have ordered in a M8 93mm Ribe Socket. Here's hoping
I can't do it, just trying to make sure I've got the right tool, when i find "a man that can"

there is torx 50 and torx 50 plus. I posted the same question a couple of weeks ago and was advised it is torx 50 plus.
I'm thinking of getting this one but have been offered the loan of a bit
