Default A visit to the NRM

Hi Everyone,
Spent a very interesting day in York today and went to the NRM. This just blew me away, they've even painted wings on the lamps (which I hope you can just make out)!!!

This was taken on a Canon 40D and a Sigma 18/55 2.8. I normally use "L" series lenses but don't need this range very often, hence the Sigma, but for less than £200 I've got to say I'm quite pleased with it. The light wasn't that good in there!

Regards

Did you visit the workshop, I was there last week, they have The Flying Scotsman stripped to the chassis.

I must pay a visit next time I'm in York. I've always wanted to see a streamline Princess Corination

Certainly is well worth a look round

I saw the "Sir Nigel Gresley" A4 in steam last time I was there, presumably returning from one of its many guest appearances.

Hi Sponge,
Yes, I did go in the Workshop. The pic' isn't very good. The light in there was pretty poor for handheld shots but you can see the mainframe in the centre and the driving wheels (which seem to have new tyres) to the right. I believe the boiler's at Ian Rileys works at Bury. (ELR)

I had a cracking day, not too sure about Lyndon (wolves 75) and our Mimi. I think they were just humouring me, look how excited they were by that big sexy Deltic

Yes, they could not contain themselves I think the excitement was all too much for some of us.

I think they enjoyed it really, They just pretended I'd made them stay there too long.
