Thanks Simon I replaced the battery today as it was dead again , one thing I've now noticed the sound is there when locking in either direction also if I put the heater on in the car the same noise can be heard. The sound like it's coming from drivers side wheel arch as its louder there

Just to let you all know I took it to the garage today to have the problem checked and it is the crank shaft pulley seems I need it replacing and also my aux belt grand total of £276
