Wii Internet Adapter
The lads got a Wii and wants to play games on the internet. We are going down the WIRED connection route. My question is:- do I have to buy a fancy usb to rj45 adapter for the Wii OR will any usb to rj45 adapter do. Reason for asking is the no frills one will cost £1 where the Wii one will cost £10 or more. Any help will be greatfully recieved.

IIRC only genuine wii cables work because of the chips/firmware used in the console.

Our wii is connected wireless, but seeing as the OP stated in caps that he wanted a wired connected suggests that a wireless connection is not a option.

Thanks for all the replies. However as I said from the start we are going down the WIRED route. Reason for this is security for my pc and also the cables from the router are already there. Keith had said that there is a chip in the adapters and I'll have to get an adapter specially for the Wii. Are there any other members agreeing on this matter?

I've heard of some of the cheaper HK imports working but only as they are copies designed to do so.. I'd use the proper ones and feel better about it.
