Default Can I glue stone flags?

Thieves stole all the top coping stone flags from my front garden wall overnight. Happens a lot around Yorkshire apparently! I have bought some cheap sandstone replacements but my question is this:

I don't want to remove the old render as it is quite solid and forms a nice level base, it is also nicely pointed at the front (something not in my expertize). Is there a type of glue I can use to just glue the new ones on? I've thought about drilling and bolting but that might ruin the look. What about a strong outdoor silicone?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

you need a waterproof epoxy adhesive or exterior grade no nails type glue in a cartridge.you could try ringing a couple of builders merchants. If you have no luck i run a trade only counter for a large plc flooring distributor based in morley.we do stock a two part epoxy adhesive which i would be happy to supply to you on a cash or card basis.Just give me a nod if you need some.

You could always cement some broken glass and razor wire along the top...

Son in Law is a Bricklayer
He says he would use PVA or Unibond coated to the top of the bricks before laying the final course of bricks or copeing stones, available from builders merchants.
He would also add a little to the final course cement & sand mix.

Same principle used for cement haunching around chimneypots at top of chimneys----

If you are going to use Unibond then you can also add it to the water for the mortar mix. ( ie. The 'mix' that 'sticks'. Lol )
