My mum is precious!
Just visited my 92 year old mum at the Nursing home this morning.
She does have issues, but generally fairly well. It is really nice to have a hour long chat with her. I cherish them every time I visit her. Just finished listening to PMQs: Boris Johnson asked by Labour leader about whatsapp messages suggesting that over-80s were dispensible during pandemic. He begins: "What has changed since we were thinking in those ways..." That sounds like an admission. But the texts, WhatsApp messages are in the public domain anyway. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. I COULD SAYBA LOT MORE, BUT WILL LEAVE IT AT THAT. |

Couldn't agree more.
This is not any defence but be careful to consider the whole and entire context of the original words actually used. Commentators, even occasionally some on motoring sites, have been known to strip a quote out of context and without any reference to the basis of the original discussion to present their impression. In an attempt to underline their own opinion they skilfully twist the life out of something. This is the problem with online stuff - brevity rules and accurate grammar suffers. I also saw the quote you mention, the original interview was different to the abridged repeat- and would have taken 20 minutes of air time to explain. hence the short cut!
