all of the 75 models have stretch bolts fitted. they are a thing of the past , and rover phased them out years ago. this was the old way of doing things...

Still struggling to get away from points condenses carbs ,this new fangled witchcraft which is sensors and ecu's blows my mind man.
Still a place for the old ways as I keep telling my kids then ask them to fix my phone or computer

I know what you mean, after over 30 years of working on 2CVs i am still trying to understand why anyone would put water in an engine, and a headgasket ! !

You can also get inexpensive "Sniff" test kits from EBAY etc which will detect the presence of combustion gasses in the coolant. I've used this on another vehicle with the same engine. (No HGF there thankfully).
