also I was rather bored with the Man from Atlantis routine in my boot, so I fitted some remanufactured light seals as an opening volley in the war against the water - thank you Jezzer, can't recommend these enough if you have leaks :

Today had a great day, and did some cleaning at 129c's place for tomorrows half way house meet.

Thanks to Paul, my car now finally has a rear boot badge:

Also, I replaced my 22 inch passenger windscreen wiper with a 21 inch wiper. Both michelin hybrids, very nice.

Car was washed and cleaned beautifully. Feeling delighted with my car now! Hopefully it won't look to shabby next to everyone elses at the Halfway house tomorrow:

Message to Coolcat - Jeff ,can't wait to show you the sound system upgrades and get your critique

Two other important additions. Firstly, the best air freshner I could ever have asked for, and matches the dash too - many thanks for 129c for picking this up, our shop only had inappropriate colours like yellow or something :

also , the most important and tricky addition to my car to date. No longer will I be shunned and laughed at amongst Rover owners, finally I can hold my head up in polite company:

I had a MacAllister pressure washer delivered tuesday, and a snow foam bottle attachment , along with some pro-kleen cherry 'flavoured' snow foam.

Drama's ensued, but this is not the place for that. It was persuaded to work beautifully today, and i made the front of the house look like a cheap christmas display at a garden centre, with the delicate hint of cherries.

Some of the stuff is still there 8 hours later.....

Still, pressure washing the car, despite some misgivings others may have was the best move i've ever made. What with the snow foam as a prewash, the amount of dirt I got off the car, the wheel arches, and particularly around the trim lines was very satisfying.

This was as the stuff had started to dissipate. Frankly it looked like shaving foam all over it at first. Great stuff, and the car looked fantastic after. Very very chuffed. Many thanks to user Steve1975 for his advise on the right tools and products

been snowing down your way pal? hahaha p.s. always lift your wipers up mate as they collect grit and scratch the screen, just wipe them with an old sponge etc

today had the opportunity to check the engine efficiency. I've had some redex in this tank too, but I found the following

Distance travelled: 467.8 miles
Diesel (brim to brim ) used : 53.35

I make that 467.8 / (53.35/4.5) = 39.4

trip computer reading - 37.6 mpg

Not bad. Mostly local miles so I'm pretty pleased with that. At the price I paid of 97.7p/litre, I make this approximately costing me 11p per mile in fuel. Not bad.

I should do this again when I have nothing but long distance trips to do. I wonder if i should apply a correction factor to the obd - anyone know how to work that all out and do that?

Project Blue Peter is now complete:

The only question is whether or not i will fit this fakery on my car. But it was fun to do.
