Finally found time to swap out the MAF and remove the Synergy 2 this morning. Cup of tea in hand, carefully stripped it all back, removed the MAF and found it to be a BOSCH!!!!! Same part number as the new one.
Lesson learned, when an “enthusiast” seller raves about all he’s done to tweak the car, don’t just prepare to put it all right, be ready to find he’s actually done nothing of the sort. Still, I got to check the air filter (new) and now I know the car is back to standard. Saving for a remap now but I’ll have a few hundred miles under my belt by the end of the week and I can see what a 115 is really like. Synergy 2, switch and working MAF now for sale...... It might have been a better idea to leave the original MAF on, and just remove the Synergy, that way you would be able to evaluate the MAF sensor as would have been in the standard car, if working ( you say so in your post!), then save some considerable money on a new one. |

The point is I was told specifically it was a PB MAF hence I couldn’t just remove the Ron box. It was only when I stripped the car down I discovered it.

Unless it’s a Bosch with PB internals?

Most likely remove it from the unit and check it out.

Well I’m curious - the car has much better throttle response now, back to O.E. spec, not much quicker but definitely sharper. Must have had some strange tweaking as it was quite heavy on fuel before, I’ve got a few days to see if that’s improved.
