Default 75 1.8 and cdt front Caliper seal again

I've a real and recurring problem with this on 2 cars - anyone had same or got advice? The caliper piston dust boot fits over the lip of the caliper assembly -unlike other designs it does not seat inside the piston. The boot has a reinforced metal ring at the seat. The problem when fitting these is that it does not want to sit all the way round - the metal ring on the seal is evidently just a fraction too small. Seat it on one side and it pops up on the other. On a tally of 4 calipers this is a problem on 2, from 2 different cars. the other 2 are fine. There is no excess corrosion or paint. I have tried boots from 3 different suppliers and all have same issue on those calipers. Help?!
