Pin arrived safe and sound Rich. Just worries now that I needed 2 instead of just the 1...
(after reading your post about a MK1 connie that needed 2...) The til sensor I got for 9 pounds delivered to NL. But I found out that it came without the connector, so I'm gonna have to find my own solution for this. Will try to do this today or tomorrow and report back.

Yep pretty much, of course you'll need a pin for the BCU plug which Rich can supply if you don't have one.
Mine arrived this morning, (should have mentioned I got mine off the bay) it came with the plug and a short length of loom and the mounting bracket, I've just got to find the time now

@Rich,
If the unit records it's currents position when the alarm is activated, and only goes of if the position changes. Then why do you have to mount it flat? You would think that it's position doesn't matter, is long as it can't move if the car isn't moving (like hanging on a string or wire...) Edit: just finished fitting mine. For me the difference was that my connector didn't have the 2 blue clips on the side of the big connector for the BCU. I had 1 white plastic clip, that I could slide down. I also noticed that the blue strip inside that connector (the one you need to slide out) is made up out of 2 parts. 1 Part slide to the side, to reveal the pins in the middle (that's where pin 32 was for me). Besides that, everything was easier then I expected. I really took the time to do this right, so it took me about an hour. Another thing you might remember. If you wanna try out the tilt sensor by sitting in the car and locking yourself in. Really wait for 40 seconds. The red light in the IPK stops flashing quickly after 10 seconds orso, but the tilt sensor won't do anything until a solid 30~40 seconds later.

Did you test different positions of the sensor Vinnie? I.E. vertical, horizontal etc

The x and y axis are marked inside the unit, open it and take a look
There is no z axis. Last edited by rich17865; 9th September 2014 at 19:59.. |

@Rich, If it's mounted correctly (horizontal), the axis would be: x | | | | | ___________y If it's mounted vertically, axis would be: y | | | | | ___________x What would be the difference? (apart from the X axis becoming the Y axis)

It would not reverse the axis. Just make it read as if the car was pointing to space.
The only way it would reverse the axis would be if it was mounted flat pointing left to right instead of back to front. The x axis points front to back and the y axis points left to right, there is no z axis point up and down. It is a 2 dimensional sensor, not 3 dimensions. It will only work if mounted flat as per the pictures. |
