Strange wires.....??
I'm in the process of taking out the main carpet...wot a mammoth task..!!! Now letting it dry out before the re-assemble jobe
Having taken off the passenger side panel, I have noticed a connector with a purple and a black cable in it. It's actually a longish cable that's "wrapped up" Now, I know I did not dis-connect it from anything so I'm wondering if anyone out there knows what it powers in probably a higher spec model. ( mine is a 1.8t Club) Thanks in advance for any light shed on this one...!!! |

Light is the operative word, sounds like the cables for the illuminated sun visors. This is the driver's side but the passenger side is the same colours.
When retrofitting illuminated sun visors you need to run the cable up under the "A" pillar trim, hence the length. |

Yes these connectors are for illuminated sun visors. There will also be one on the passenger side, a very easy modification if you're that way inclined.

God bless you merry Gentle-folk..!!! Thanks for clearing that up; don't think an illuminated vanity mirror is high on the "things to do" agenda for a wrinkly oap!! Once I banish the stagnant water smell that permeates the car, I wanna tackle retro-fitting electric seats...!

So lucky to have them drop into your lap - I've looked for months for mine but eventually gave up!!!
