Boot lock
The boot lock on my Mark I 2.0 Connoisseur can be opened either from outside, using the key or from inside, by pressing a button. The lock itself is working fine, as is the button, but there is a problem with the key-operated mechanism. It still works, but the key now has to be turned much further round (almost 180 degrees) to open the boot and no longer springs back.
I assume there must be a spring inside the barrel of the lock mechanism which makes the key spring back to the vertical, and I assume that spring must have broken. My question is, is it easy to replace and can anyone tell me how to do it? What do I need to buy? I don't want to change the whole unit because that would mean having a different key for the boot. |
