Default High level brake light

Hi all

why are the jobs that should be simple to do a big pain in the rear ?

I need to get to my high level brake light to find out why it's not working and the two screws are doing a Kylie Minogue, just spinning around and not coming out.

Does anyone have a solution ?

Pete.

I had the same problem when I tried taking mine off to clean out a few bits of fluff. Gave up in the end.

At the back they just screw into a black retainer clip, quite often I have seen people snap them out and then use two double sided sticky pads on either end of the inside of the high level break light to put it back on.

So I pulled it off.

Has anyone ever tested the voltages across the LEDs ?

I have nearly 2 volts across most of them appart from the five centre ones which have 6 volts !!!

I have 3 LEDs that are out, one on the far right and 2 in the 6 volts lot.

I have redone all the solder joints and checked it all over, measured the resistors and diodes, it's all good but strange.

NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- of a job. Mine fell apart, plastic was very brittle. However fitting one I got from a wrecker was not hard, and it's all A1 again now.
