Collapsible hoses
Has anyone bought or had experience of these expanding jobbies?
They seem very practical in that they expand to 3 x their length (e.g. 5m dry expands to 15m when wet), but then retract to their basic size again when the water supply is turned off. The size I would need would set me back £30, so I would rather buy it (or not) based on experience rather than sales blurb.

Nothing much in prospect today for me - SWMBO is toiling away in the garden, I'm off out with the boys tonight for a couple of ciders and a few games of snooker; son and his family are all on a ferry to Calais this morning, heading for a two week break in Beauvais, France - so we'll be having a quiet Sunday too. All in all - a quiet, relaxing day ahead - I hope. I'm off to hospital early doors Monday, hopefully to get a skin tag removed from my eyelid. It's grown to the extent where it is now interfering with my vision and is actually dragging my eye lid down due to its weight (see what I did with the smilies there )

Glutton for punishment tired another after the first one burst. Its only a thin rubber tube like a balloon when the water pressure goes in it just expands to the outer casing. Slightest wear or NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- from a stone etc and it pops. Thats my experince. What a stupid naughty word correction said PRIC?

Several weeks ago I went to my GP, ref a skin tag just below my right eye, I was told cant be done on the NHS because it is cosmetic, suggested I go private YEA! right, they wanted £650 to remove it. Had to go to the eye clinic on Thursday because of a referral by my optician after spending 4.5 hours there was told by the consultant nothing to really worry about except there was a cataract forming on the bottom corner of right eye. I then asked him would he have any power in removing said skin tag, telling him the price I had been quoted, should not have been any more the £150, he then said I can do that for you, called a nurse in and it will be sorted on the 14 August nine o clock in the morning. RESULT!! Rev |

Collapsible hoses are a waste of money Rod. I haven't had one but know of other people who have, they split and leak after a short time, and the end that connects to the hose attachment usually comes apart. So my advice would be either do as you said, and spend the money on cider, or buy the real thing that will last for years.

Thanks Rich - you and Freddie are obviously both of the same opinion - thanks for warning me - I'll stick to cider and the old, heavyweight hose on a reel.
