Default Remote central locking fault question

Hi all, have an 04 plate ZT saloon that I basically rescued from the scrapyard, list as long as your arm with stuff that needs looking at but he was cheap so....

Anyhow, I've had repeated central locking faults with it since I bought it and have replaced the NSR and OSF latches. My main concern is the remote central locking doesn't work so if the mechanical lock ever fails there's no way to get in the car?

The OSF one I think is still faulty, it doesn't work off the button in the car or when first pulling away after getting in the car. I've been told that this latch controls things like global locking and other central locking operations, is it likely that this could be the fault with the remote central locking or is that all just controlled by the BCM?
