Beware Windows 10
If this is in the wrong place, I apologise.
Having down loaded windows 10 I have had nothing but problems with my computer, be warned!! It trashed the sound from my speakers, messed with my pictures and document files and eventually left me with a frozen screen telling me my computer had a problem. Had to take it to my local repair shop, who confirmed Windows 10 was a 'boom to his business'. Now I'm happy to have it back with windows 7 gratefully re-installed.

Have installed it on my main work machine with no major issues. The boss has done it as well again with no issues.
I think it depends on the PC. But some people swear by it, and some swear at it!

Got Windows 10 on my sons gaming PC, our old everyday PC and Mrs mininuts laptop, had no issues whatsoever with any of them. In fact, it's revitalised our old PC and made it much faster in both running and shut down/start up

No problems here at all with the move from W7 to W10 on my HP Compaq, apart from the battle with Windows Update not working and preventing the install.
Everything still works, just as before, booting is no faster, but the apps are quite a bit more responsive in use.

There are some very simple things to do first, before installing win 10.
1. Check to make sure your laptop or computer, has the most up to date BIOS in it. As this can actually cause win 10 to fail to install, or worse requires your machine to be recovered with the original windows disk. 2. Run the windows 10 compatibility program first, to see if it will cause any issues. 3 Make sure you make a backup first, using disk imaging software before doing the win 10 update. Then if it goes wrong, you can write that image back onto the hard drive. And your system will be same as it was, before the upgrade. |
