Default Front damper and springs

Hi Guys,

I have a leaking damper and thought it best to replace the whole lot on both sides.

unfortunately, I can't see the part numbers I need as the label under the rear seat has been polished off.

All I can see is either "RR or RB or BB or RR Spring" as the letter aren't properly legible.

On the strut i can see "FM White Delphi Spain" and a number "?2191038, FT024". I cant tell what the first ? character is.

THe coloured markings on the springs are long gone!

My chassis number is SARRJLLHC4D317939. Can anyone advise?

regards
Rich

I can not help you, but I am sure Marinabrian or Trikey will be along shortly to give you a definitive answer. You are in Leeds, why not ask Big Russ his advice. He lives in Leeds.

scroll to the bottom of THIS page and it will guide you.

Comfort spec will be Red/Brown springs, 'sports' spec will be 'Brown/Brown'

i cannot remember the specs for struts, but they are listed on that page. Sport spec was not a common fitment apparently. But keep in mind the condition of the roads you will be driving on when deciding.

HI Guys,
This is all I have to work with?

So it's either Red Brown or Brown Brown ... what do you think it is?

Hi Rich

I am just about to replace my Front Shocks on my MG ZT CDTi (Well Friday) I am going to replace with:-

RNB001050 CODE RE BROWN / RED

RNB001040 CODE QK BROWN / RED

I do believe that they are the Comfort sport ones, Also changing top mounts etc on both sides, so I can report back at the weekend if they feel any better (They better as one is leaking at the moment)

As your car is 170BHP - would suggest the sports version ?

As your car is at 170bhp (how was this attained by the way?) i would have thought Sports version.

Sports suspension was generally a standard fit on early ZTs but replaced with comfort spec as it was found to be a bit harsh.

The build inf on your car says it's a later model so I would say it's comfort suspension it is on my ZT which came off the line 3 days after yours!

Build info on yours if your interested
