Default ABS light, no braking shudder

Good morning folks,

My friend just took our car for the new number plate and when he started it the ABS light came on and stayed on. There is no shuddering or other unusual feeling when braking. I don't know yet if the light went out after the engine stared and then came back on or stayed on from the time the engine was started.

He asked me if it could be some light surface rust on a reluctor or sensor because the car had been sitting for about 3 weeks. It is normal for the friction surface of brake rotors to flash/surface rust when a car sits for a long time.

I thought maybe, but also, the car has just recently had new front brake pads installed, so thinking sensor connector or wire.

Cheers,
Glenn

My friend just messaged to say the light went off again while driving. That sure sounds like a sensor wire or connector.
