Default squealing/whistling kind of noise

get this weird kind of noise when either braking or driving freely...

convinced its coming from at least one of the wheels...anyone know what this could be?

Check for a rim of rust around the edge of the disc. It fouls the pad/backing plate as it builds up. Can also be a wheel bearing that needs replacing/adjusting as the wheel/disc then sits slightly out of alignment.(disc touching pad/backing plate)

A brillo will not be of much use to clear the edge rust build up which is reality is the edge left behind as the disk wears in normal use.

When you say the disks have a rust, is this only the edge or more generally?
