Default White Smoke after Injector Fault

Right...got the engine back together & fixed the injector wiring.

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?p=186530

However, now got huge clouds of white smoke out the back of the exhaust..

My sense of smell is terrible.

Assuming it's one of the following 2 problems...

1) Unburnt petrol in the exhaust system

2) #6 cylinder has killed itself with borewash and the rings have gone...

Any other options?

Isn't white smoke a sign of oil being burnt in the cylinders? With blue-ish smoke being a sign of unburnt petrol. Or am I barking up the wrong smoke-signal here?

Just run it for 30 minutes and problem appears to be clearing.

Looks like it's petrol soaked baffles...

Yes you are barking up the wrong smoke signal Blue smoke oil burning, white smoke is steam, or could be brake fluid if servo seals go and release brake fluid into manifold. Or am I barking up the wrong signal?

No smoke at all now, so the smoke signals have dried up....

Had a similar problem with a diesel Astra, the garage recommends Forte additive to the fuel. Is this additive any good or just 'Snake oil' ?
