ZTT Roof Rails Wanted - are they the same as 75 roof rails ?
I'm after a pair of roof rails for my 2003 ZTT 1.8T as my family's just got larger (!) and I really need to fit a roof box. I've already got cross bars to fit but no 'front to back' rails. If anyone has a pair for sale with fittings or knows of where I can get a pair second hand then that would be great. (£233 new from Rimmer Brothers with fitting kit!). Also, does anyone know if the ZTT roof rails are exactly the same as the Rover 75 estate roof rails ?
Thanks Rob |

Hi Daddyrob,
Why not see if Les at SMC has a used set he can sell to you? An alternative would be to pick up a set from Ebay. If you search using "Rover 75 Breaking" or "MG ZT-T Breaking" then normally there are a few being stripped. If you click on the ad then "Ask the Seller a Question" then they will be able to give you a price. I located mine this way paying below £100 including couriered delivery. Cheers Kelseycowpat |

Rob,
There is one difference I've noted. Some 75 tourers were fitted with chrome rails, all MGs and most 75s have the satin black finish. An easy spot but may be worth searching out some chrome ones if that's your thing! If so, how come you've got an MG rather than a Rover?! Steve |

Thanks to all who've replied
Thanks Kelseycowpat - I've tried SMC and they don't have any at the mo. Will try your suggestion on Ebay, Cheers.
Wicksy - thanks, I've contacted Pondweed and will see if he's still selling them Rob |

interesting about finishes. I wouldnt day the MG ones are Satin - they almost have a slightly textured finish on mine whereas my Rover ones were smooth, iirc?
My box and bars have gone to grace a rather lovely tourer; couple of people following the siderails but havent completely decided to remove them yet... can't decide if it makes the car look lower, or just makes it fatter? |
