Glad you're okay Bob.
Sorry about the "Bear", at least it's fixable.

There are some checks that are set in stone and others are quick visual checks. The MOT is the minimum standard of road worthiness at that point and doesn’t mean a car that has passed is a good car. Every part of the vehicle can’t be checked in detail in the (approx ) 45 minute time frame.

Glad to hear both you & the Bear are safe Bob, at least it's an easier repair (bolt-on) than rusted out sills !!
Personally, I'd be having a word with the previous owner......sounds like a right dodgy character to me....

She’s home................
.............................. and my credit card is having a lay down in a darkened room. Spoke to the boss at the garage and asked if the corrosion would have been picked up on the MOT. He said only if they had taken the wheels off then it would have been seen.
Treated the Bear to a drink on the way home. Many thanks to Allen for giving me a lift.
