KV6 timing belts.
Would it make any sense to change the two rear belts before removing the front. With the cam sprockets marked up and engine locked in safe position only one cam on each bank can move when belt is released, or have I forgotten something. Did the job 7 years ago and am contemplating it again.

When removing the rear belts only the exhaust camshaft will move. It makes no difference whether you do the rear belts first or second. Most people find that the rear belts removal/replacement tool cannot be fitted when the engine is locked in the safe position (flywheel/drive plate pin inserted) because the rear sprocket notches don't quite line up. Therefore remove the pin and rotate the engine slightly until the notches do line up. The inlet camshafts won't move because they're both locked to the crankshaft via the front belt. I hope that refreshes your memory! Simon

Makes no difference. That's the logic!
-If it still makes any difference in these times!
